powderfreak
Pouring out as a consolation prize for missing the heavy rain to the southeast today. We had a similar isolated downpour pop up earlier over us but didn't last more than 5-10 minutes and delivered 0.20". Now we've got a second downpour develop right overhead here on RT 108 immediately west of the village (intersection). I can certainly see how areas south and east of here got so much rain today. This stuff is efficient, any prolonged period starts to add up.
tamarack
Noisy TS woke us up about 3 AM. The close (<1 mile) shots shook the house. Quick 0.94" as well, 2nd best TS of the summer.
wxeyeNH
Total rainfall from yesterdays system ended up 1.10". A training line of heavy T storms developed just west of me giving the towns N and W or me much more rain. Love to see Erika's moisture get up here somehow next week. dendrite
Low 52.5F...kinda meh, but still nice. One last shot for Aug 40s tonight. This may end up being my first August here without a <= 49.9F min.
moneypitmike
Low 52.5F...kinda meh, but still nice. One last shot for Aug 40s tonight. This may end up being my first August here without a <= 49.9F min. 40's are tough to come by in the summer here. I have a pretty narrow range for summertime lows, seldomly getting to the low 50's and rarely failing to drop below 60. 54.4 for the low last night. tamarack
Low 52.5F...kinda meh, but still nice. One last shot for Aug 40s tonight. This may end up being my first August here without a <= 49.9F min. Had 45 on the 8th. If that holds, which seems likely, it will be my mildest monthly minimum for August - current standard is 43 in 8/2011. Median for bottom of August at my place is 39. Precip up to 4.22", slightly AN for the month, and probably all we'll get. Our peer-review field trip was one for two, wx-wise. Wednesday was misery mist for 2/3, then mod. RA for 1/3, and a downpour as we arrived at our lodgings on West Grand Lake. Day two was just perfect, low dews and no bugs.

dendrite
My new 12V FARS fan is installed. It absolutely roars. We'll see how well it performs. So far I expected more response (jumpier temps) than what I'm getting so far. Hopefully it's not sucking the exhausted air back in. I may need a bit of rope caulk to seal around it too. powderfreak
Awesome shots, Eyewall. You're landscapes are always sick. From two days ago, a couple views of passing showers. Amazing how localized it can be. Where I was on the Gondola side of the hill, we had only a brief light rain. Over at the base of the Toll Road they had a 15-20 minute downpour from the drifting and convective cell. In this picture it is more out over town. Another weak shower moves over the Sterling Ridge. eyewall
I am going to go on the record and say this extended stretch of heat sucks and will be a real blow. I only hope it doesn't kill the vibrance of foliage too badly.
wxeyeNH
My mini drought continues to intensify. It's very localized in my town of Bridgewater NH. We have missed almost every thunderstorm this summer. Neighbors 2 drilled wells went dry yesterday. Getting worried about my well. I have been watering like crazy but I better stop now. Perennial gardens with hostas just wilting like crazy. My 8 foot pond is gone. Not just muck on the bottom but dry dust. Hoping for some storms with front this week. Fingers crossed. Heavy Weather
Looks like everything will develop south of me again. Another week will go by without any rain. If grass turns totally brown will it come back the following year?? Yes, grass can resist flood and drought and nearly always return the next season. No worries... I feel your drought pain! We have been fortunate here but still, the brooks and ponds are sickly low. Just had a quick .25" shower here and am soooo grateful. But with the next strinkin' H comin' with more heat, I'll be calling for a soaking rain event...and widespread at that. I've had enough of this...(as if weather cares).
