powderfreak
Just amazing thunder and lightning this evening...its been constant thunder and like strobe lightning out there. Looks like Waterbury has probably picked up a good deal of liquid in the past hour. Those red echos mean business with heavy rates.

mreaves
Pretty good downpour with accompanying light show rolling through at the moment. Missed the early stuff while at an anniversary party in Hardwick. Nice to get some rain. Glad I mowed yesterday as it looks like the next several days won't be good. Would've had to machete my way to the mower if I had waited a week between mowings.
Nittany88
48 degrees this morning with a north gusting to 25 mph, lovely. Up 1.3F on the warmest May record, so we'll get that despite the chilly day (and probably the coolest feeling day of the whole month lol) 1 2015 63.8 1 2 1911 62.5

The 106F here at ASH. 105F there in Vernon. 105F in North Bridgton, ME. CON had 100+ a few days that month. Even the Franklin COOP here had 103F IIRC. eyewall
I deleted the other post from earlier but these are photos I took yesterday (5-30) in the Mt. Philo State Park area of Charlotte, VT as storms rolled in:
borderwx
Glad you all liked the picture, figured it would be appreciated, pretty special place we have here in NNE. Maybe someday I can take a picture like eyewall and do the views the justice they deserve. Our Green Mtns are living up to their namesake these days... 40F wind rain and wind on the top of Rt 105 for the last day of May.

powderfreak
I just checked and I am at 1.31" total so far... but it pales in comparison to what just south of here by a few miles has. The CoCoRAHS reports show J.Spin led VT last night with 2.26" at his location on the Spine axis, and after today's rain so far I'd assume he may be near 2.75" at this point. Just over the border into Washington County, you can see on the radar estimates where that zone is. There's also a Moretown station just south of Waterbury that's approaching 3" now, and MPV is at 2.5". All of these stations line up nicely with the radar estimated heaviest zones even if the actual estimates are off.

ApacheTrout
1.14 inches as of 7 am. Chilly high of 50F. Pretty good winds overnight on Saturday night. Broke a few tree limbs in the 4-inch diameter size.
powderfreak
1.31" as of yesterday morning, then just dumped another 1.01" out of the Stratus gauge....for a total of 2.32". MVL had another brain fart last night measuring rainfall...once it stopped being convective and went to synoptic rain it dropped to 50% rainfall of all surrounding CoCoRAHS stations. powderfreak
Top 2-Day CoCoRAHS reports from VT... Models actually did a very good job with focusing the heaviest rains in central VT, as the heaviest precip zone is Washington County bounded by Waterbury, Warren, Waitsfield, Middlesex, Berlin, MPV. powderfreak
BTV's 2-day precip total map... looks pretty spot on. I fall into the darker orange (2-2.5") in far SW Lamoille County with my 2.32" and then just south of here is the reds in Waterbury where they got another 1.5". powderfreak
Nice dude! I was thinking the Winooski must be pretty damn impressive right now from all that rain flowing into it and the heaviest rain occurred in its general basins.
