It was more mild today after the cold front passed then it was before it did!  :lmao:

High of 69° today. 0.16" of rain.

You can see the trees are green, but not the lush green of summer yet. Some farm fields have been plowed up already - not this one yet.

very nice pic Geos.

34 and light snow this morning.  I see a bit on the windshield of my car and spotty areas on the grass.  Only suppose to be 38

today.  Could totally pass for an early November day.

tonight could be interesting...  central and east Wisconsin look to get blitzed with some frost...La crosse is gun shy...thinking we have enough clouds/wind around ... i planted tomatoes, zinnias, and a bunch of other stuff...really don't feel like covering everything.  Zinnias will melt if they get hit with frost...

I got patchy frost in my grid for tonight - low 37°. Getting a few isolated breaks in the clouds, but mainly cloudy and windy so far today.

Looks like back to the marine air mass for the next two days, but near 70° on Friday!

Hey DLLs - I put my tomatoes out too (I started them too early and my plants were getting too big to manage inside). I'm not really looking forward to trying to cover them but we have patchy frost in the grid down here too. However, expected low is 36 so I'm wondering if I will take the risk and just roll with it.

I didn't realize you guys over in Michigan have been so warm. Your avg May high temp has me beat by 6 degrees.

And the anomalies in Ohio are even more impressive. It's definitely been a record breaking start to May here.

Spent the day in SD/WY yesterday. Visited the Bandlands, Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills and Crazy Horse. Missed out on Jewel Cave unfortunately as they closed fairly early.

Today through the weekend we're in Colorado. Today we visited Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Canyon and Helen Hunt Falls.

I hope you are enjoying yourself Joe. It sounds like you are hitting a lot of the major attractions. Be sure to post if you snag some severe.

Nice stats Tim. Still pretty impressive as it is the warmest start for all of those reporting sites in at least 50 years (85 for Akron).

La Crosse shows 39F now..they actually bumped it up a degree... i think somewhere like Sparta and central WI will be ground zero...    I'm leaving everything...warm back up by Fri/Sat....then rain Sun and back into the dumpster next week.

I think the craziest stat for Ohio is Lake Erie water temps. 60 degree water temps in early May is ridiculous, usually it isn't until June that we start getting above that. ec727361717cfea92187a2ac9f2f90d4.jpg

It's even more of a shock considering how cold this winter was

Sent from my iPhone

Dang, that is impressive. Also, 62 on one end and 38 on the other...you can tell were the shallow part is.

No wonder a SE breeze off of Erie had such little effect on us here in Detroit, usually this time of the year that brings some massive lake breeze that ruins everything on what would be a nice day.

Frost advisory expanded to include everyone in SE Wisc. now. 45° and dropping here.

Was just looking at Lake Michigan temps - they are in the 40s still.

Clouds and gusty winds have not helped warm the surface waters.

Low this morning was 27.  It was very icy out early.  Northern lights were beautiful around 4 am today.  Lots of pinks and greens.

This is the only time of the year I wouldn't want to live there. Cold-cool days suck during May.

eh, 45-50 isn't so bad if you're moving around.  There's way more bonuses than negatives.  I discover something new here everyday.  It feels more like southern Canada here than MI.  Out for a walk this morning I saw a freaking Moose.... haha

yesterday was damn cold tho.

Thanks, most definitely am.

Had a thunderstorm move through off the mountains last evening that produced small hail.

Today we're headed up to Pikes Peak, where it's snowing.

Anyone see the northern lights in Illinois last night?

By the way, this is a superior mirage of downtown Chicago, as seen from Michigan. Probably one of the coolest optical effects.
