We have FULL sun here in Northbrook, IL. One thing I am really worried about is the fact that MANY people I know think that the storm that just passed NE IL was the severe storms they were predicting today and think the severe threat is over... not good!

Honestly the most impressive signature I've seen so far today is east of Athens, Ohio currently.

Edit: Strong couplet near Mexico, MO right now as well.

Yes, that wrapped up rather quickly just to my south, and also had an impressive hail core. I knew there was weak rotation that would pass about 10 miles to my south but was too busy watching lightning and a shelf cloud move in to get in my car and go after it, and by the time it really started wrapping up it was too late to catch it. Oh well.

Couplet has occluded, but there appeared to be some debris there on CC for a few scans, maybe even a bit of a debris ball there on base reflectivity.

The low CC was in the inflow region so I'm not sure it was debris...but, the couplet and hook were impressive

My week just went from complete bust (0.04" of rain all week) to pretty good in 20 minutes.  It appeared the strong storms were going to pass south of Cedar Rapids, but a thin line popped up on the northern edge and trained over my side of the city.  I got three rounds of hail, mostly pea size but up to 0.75" diameter, my biggest in years.  I also got the first cracks of thunder of the season as well as torrential rain (likely over 1").

There is now a flash flood warning for Cedar Rapids.
