SomeWeatherGeek
Anyone north of 287 should be worrying about frost and freezes tomorrow night. It'll be cold even in NYC probably dropping to around 36. Frost could definitely hit all the plants so that sucks huh! At least we're not talking about heat cause that is just plain annoying! pazzo83
You've been pining for summertime heat since the second week of February. Most of the region is relatively dry, and has been since at least last summer. Absolutely nothing wrong with rain in April. Haha, in fact, I believe there is even a saying related to that! I can't quite recall...

NWS has a low of 32F here in Dobbs Ferry for tomorrow night after a high of just 53F. Should definitely see hard freezes around much of the suburbs. Last year it was pretty funny when the local Walmart put out veggies and herbs in late March only to have them all completely killed. Home Depot has been running a commercial about a sale on veggies for a couple weeks now.

uncle W
The record low temperature tomorrow morning at Newark from 1967 should be tied of broken. We were also coming off a cold and snowy March back in 1967. Threaded Climate Extremes for Newark Area, NJ Period of record: 1931 - 2014 4/24 36 in 1967 37 in 2002 37 in 1989+ a little wet snow came with the cold in 1967...2002 came after the mid April heat...the record low for NYC is 31 set in 1930... NorthShoreWx
Freeze Watch for eastern Suffolk. Way too close for comfort. It shouldn't matter since we are still about 3 week s before the accepted frost free date. Plant tender vegetation in April at your own risk. The latest freeze date here since 1996 was 32 on 5/14/1996.

The latest freeze date here since 1996 was 32 on 5/14/1996. That seems awfully late to be getting frosts/freezes. My last freeze was on April 2nd, I assumed we were out of the woods. Luckily everything I have is potted, so some things can spend the night indoors as a precaution.
SnoSki14
Most vegetation should be able to handle a couple hours of near freezing temperatures. Only the very sensitive plants might get a bit of damage but it shouldn't be too bad. If we were talking mid 20s for lows then it would be a problem but not borderline freezing temps. IsentropicLift
The 12z GFS came very close to bringing in rain for most of Saturday, as it is, it gives us light rain on Saturday night. The vortex comes down at the last minute this run and shunts the surface low just far enough South.
