No one was calling for cool weather till post 4/20. I don't think it will be that cool but days of highs in the 50s and lows in the mid to upper 30s seem very possible.

The coolest weather this time of year comes off an east wind with strong onshore flow so despite a blocking pattern, temps won't be terribly cool on N/NW winds.

There will likely be at least a handful of -10 dailies or colder with high temperatures barely cracking the lower 50s, if the current pattern verifies. I think the positive departures will be wiped out by the end of the month in NYC.

I love when that happens. It's night time there is a chill in the 50s with a south wind. The wind suddenly goes offshore and the temp shoots up, up to 20 degrees.

My favorites in Long Beach were the famous gust front heat blasts that occurred right before squall lines arrived.

I once went from 85 on a SW wind to 95 and a NW wind in less than 5 minutes. That was followed by heavy

rain and temps plunging into the 70's.
