Baroclinic Zone
My lawn survived the "Great Drought of 2015". We'll be telling our kids about this summer for years to come about how brutally dry and awful it was.

Lava Rock
Front lawn taking a beating. Back yard not so bad.Landscaper says he can reseed as late as 10/1, possibly 10/15, but without any rain, I ain't pushing for it. Don't want to run the well dry. backedgeapproaching
The front yard. Same treatments. Both have irrigation. Sent from my SCH-I545 That shows you other issues in the back...shade, soil compaction, etc. Was there ever grass in those brown spots?
amarshall
Yes look the same as front last year. I had slight chemical burn early in spring. That's historically where I get grubs but I hit it with allectus Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Damage In Tolland
Yeah.. That back area looks like very poor soil
SJonesWX
Yeah.. That back area looks like very poor soil that plus that oak tree next to his shed probably sucks up a lot of moisture
Damage In Tolland
Are the trees still soaking in what little ground/soil moisture there is or are we past that now?

We'll be telling our kids about this summer for years to come about how brutally dry and awful it was. Lots of whining. I can only imagine Ken Burns' sequel to "The Dust Bowl" as a result of this summer. Kevin crying in despair as he loads the family into the minivan for a soccer game. Just one sad scene after the other. Just a terrible, terrible moment in history.
S&P
Do I need to reseed this or will it come back Sent from my SCH-I545 if its grub damage no, can you just pull the grass up or is it still rooted? if still rooted it will come back with rain
S&P
if its grub damage no, can you just pull the grass up or is it still rooted? if still rooted it will come back with rain if it is soil compaction , rent an aerator (sp) that will help

Damage In Tolland
Are they getting sun? They should if they don't look dead.Fully green and alive. I don't get more than 2-3 hours of sun on the yard and house this time of year. Very shady now. So they get a couple hours from about 1-3:
