Professional Lurker
Figured I'd start a thread since there isn't one. Probably not tons to say except talk of torch, melting, and ice dams. Starting here as a sleet snow mix, expecting a fairly quick flip to rain. 37.
powderfreak
Awesome wet bulb processes at work this evening. GFL (north of ALB) was 47/18 at 4pm. At 6:30pm it was 35/30 with 2sm -SN. Crazy to have a high in the upper 40s just 2 hours prior to it snowing. I mean, yeah... I'm a weather geek (as most of us here are). But it blows my mind how clueless the average person is about the weather. I mean, it impacts every part of our lives from what to wear to what to grow to how early to leave for work. ... to know nothing about it is idiotic. Same with cooking. Eating is essential to survival, but most people don't have a clue how to cook. Don't get it.

The 4 Seasons
The sleet vs. hail debacle will forever continue with the general public. No point in fighting it, just go with it. It hailed here briefly before going over to liquid snow.
