Chicago WX
12z RGEM likes the MN/IA state line, basically, for a jackpot. 8-10" on the clown map.
Chitown Storm
Wow. Lightning just sw of Mankato. Actually some decent mid-level lapse rates advecting into the area. Yeah just got the alert for the lightning. Things definitely starting to blossom.
Geos
Plenty cold enough around here for snow. Only 31° right now with mostly cloudy skies. SREF plume mean up to 3.7" here and almost 6" for LSE.
Chitown Storm
Whoa rip city here temp dropped to 26 Nice! Looks like you're in a good spot on this one.

Probably gonna need a good burst to get it to stick.

Prairie du Chien looks to be in a sweet spot. High clouds slowly giving way to mid level clouds now.
gosaints
Ripping again. Not accumulating on roads. About an inch on the grassy surfaces
wisconsinwx
Amazing how consistently the heaviest snow this winter has generally passed just to our south sans the early March event. I'm ready for the snow season to end, as the DAB on the way looks to be truly worthless in what otherwise has been a pretty pleasant month. Could somebody enlighten me? BTW, the 4km NAM has 12-14" max for this storm near Lacrosse!
Chitown Storm
DAB = dusting at best. Well, it's either time to do this or let's move along to other things. The band out west looks good and appears to drift south right over the metro on its current path. Things to the SW are expanding and heading NE. Congeal ftw? Or bust? hawkeye_wx
The contrast in Iowa is pretty crazy right now. Southwest Iowa is in the 70s while far northeast Iowa is in the 20s with very heavy snow. A guy in Prairie du Chien has already received 2.5 inches and it really just started. He says it's the heaviest snow he's seen all season.

Its an amwx-forum coined term that supposedly means "dusting at best" (which would imply anything from not a flake to maybe 0.1-0.2") but those who use it tend to describe anything 2" or less as a "dab". hawkeye_wx
Reports of 3.5" from Decorah and Prairie du Chien from the initial frontogenetic band. Both towns should have another 3-5" coming tonight from the main system... a pretty nice little bonus late March storm.
Geos
Camera near Beloit, WI. I see the advisory LOT put out for the most NW counties, but wondering if the band might stick closer to counties right along the stateline?...

hawkeye_wx
4+ inches in Decorah/Prairie du Chien now. The initial band is now lifting northeast away from them, but the snow will re-expand south later as the main system approaches. I should at least see some light mix (if I'm awake) late tonight, might accumulate a little on the grass.

Too bad it's such a small band, so only a select few get anything decent. Expect to hear a lot of pinging on the eastern windows after 2am. Probably an hour or two of white slop before it moves on. I will miss it all since it will fall right in the sleep window for me.

IWXwx
0.9" or less. You should know. I believe that you coined it. I could actually see a DAB tomorrow afternoon before warming changes it to rain and melts any accumulation.
