real
The Manhattan Heat Island was really obvious last night. About 8 pm, cars parked around 8th in Midtown still had less than an inch of snow on them. But when I walked over to 11th toward the river, cars there had like 3 inches on them. Just in span of three blocks, snowfall was dramatically higher away from center of the Island.

I can't remember once LGA being the high NYC station. 1993-94 they were just short of 60". And they must have been during the 1980's a few times because their mean was higher than JFK's and Central Park's. I'll retrieve that in a minute. Could aggregation in the warm lower levels have had that much of an influence on density? There were some dendrites, but they were mostly tiny and clumped together, ultimately yielding some of the best ratios of the winter imby.
