Ginx snewx
If I can't see it with the bare eye then it didn't happen. How would we know?
Juliancolton
That last M3.7 flare was very long-lived... that's the one to watch out for. Full-halo CME seems quite likely when the Lasco imagery updates. Looks pretty lopsided. It'll be par for the course with this solar cycle if we manage to miss a CME from this perfectly-placed sunspot group
Juliancolton
CACTus calculated a plane-of-the-sky speed for the CME of 563km/s and a width of 166 degrees. An analysis of the LASCO/C2 imagery seemsindicative of a slightly larger speed and width. Both the coronagraphic andEUV imagery also seem to indicate that the bulk of this CME is directed tothe southwest (under the ecliptic and away from Earth). http://www.sidc.oma.be/products/presto/
Juliancolton
Some decent pillars from a webcam in central ME currently. I'm pretty sure this isn't related to the Wednesday CME, but it's interesting to see
eekuasepinniW
Two CME's are enroute currently. Both are full halo's, but slow moving and not impressive. However, anytime you get two fired back-to-back there is a possibility of enhanced activity. This one should be of decent duration and will probably peak at a G2 on Saturday'ish. mitchnick
Maybe it will help to perturb our friend known as the PV.
eekuasepinniW
Slow moving or not, it packed a decent punch. Bz has been stable in the -15 to -18 range and a G2 is in progress. Nice glow to the north through gaps in the clouds, but nothing I'm standing outside for.
eyewall
G2 in progress, may got to G4. Check again immediately after dark!
eekuasepinniW
18bt/-17bz is pretty decent. Seems stable and becoming gradually more intense. I have a real hard time buying G4 but G3 is probably a good bet. Southward extent of the oval will probably be reduced regardless of IMF values. eekuasepinniW
Current activity level is no match for the near full moon. The hazy cirrus clouds aren't helping either. Moon shouldn't be a problem after midnight. The sebec lake cam looks like daylight... guess they set the exposure for moonless nights.
Juliancolton
Camera sees persistent green glow along the horizon, between breaks in the clouds. Should be a good show if we get a substorm close to moonset.
eyewall
Too many clouds here but apparently it did go pretty good during the early morning hours.
OSUmetstud
faint green glow to the northeast. Didn't even know anything was going on tonight so no confirmation bias lol. Kp is 5 and the map shows it pretty close so I don't think I'm seeing things.
eekuasepinniW
Perfectly positioned megaspot 2473 spewed a nice full halo CME today during a long duration M1 flare. Definitely going to be some good action around the 30th.

eekuasepinniW
Just noticed we missed a potent G3 this evening by a few hours. Nice negative Bz flipped as the sun set. Some residual activity still ongoing right now along the horizon in a very low greenish arc.

eyewall
I was out and didn't catch more than a faint glow, but apparently things picked up around 11pm after I went back home and clouds started coming in.
ApacheTrout
G1-Class storm currently underway. I don't think anything's visible here in Vermont, but it's worth paying attention.
