CoastalWx
That was awesome lol. That quote will never be forgotten here. "Dude it ain't happening, period" kicked off the most epic stretch anyone here will likely see living in SNE Yeah well unfortunately I admit a little frustration probably aided that comment. If you read around, a lot of us were already saying how the pattern killer good going forward. That's when it really started to come together. SJonesWX
Still ice on the local pond this morning and then up by Spot Pond in Stoneham on the way up 93. i drove by Spot pond yesterday and was very surprised at how frozen it still is. i did see some open water around some of the rocks, but that was it. the ice is getting pretty gray, so i would think that most of the ice would be gone within 5-7 days. the only real open water i have noticed is directly across 93 from Spot pond in that little pond

My opinion of this winter is definitely tainted by the other things going on in my life.

Lack of daycare and piecing together baby sitters as well as commute times certainly did not make for a happy wife here lol. But, anytime I got down I just looked out the window. My opinion of this winter is definitely tainted by the other things going on in my life. Its my outlet. I had perhaps my worst winter family and personal wise ever but when stressed here I is. what it did affect was my ability to actually enjoy the snow, only was able to escape for one week skiing when normally I get 10-15 days in. tamarack
Saw 2 cars still riding around on Sabbatus Lake yesterday up here, Pretty insane when its open water fishing season............ Not only is the ice white and solid (and probably 30"+), but it's still firmly attached to shore. Usually by late March, getting onto the ice is dicey on foot, nevermind in a vehicle, because the edges are opening.

I took a ride around lake auburn on sunday just to see what was going on and it was locked in solid and no one fishing at any of the tributaries that empty into the lake as there was very little open water to be had and no anglers which is very rare to see

Your posting style changed from free spirit , fun loving, jovial last year.. to dark, mean, demonic this winter. JC-CT
Thanks all for the kind words. Looking back at the Jan-Feb model thread, it was pretty startling to see how few nice things I had to say. But it was a pretty good reflection of how I was feeling. It's still a work in progress, as Bob so poignantly pointed out yesterday. I wouldn't go so far as to say I was demonic, though. And man, more than a couple members just nailed the Blizzard before any model showed it.

And man, more than a couple members just nailed the Blizzard before any model showed hyperbole...but yes, an overall negative mood can overshadow the things that brought us the most joy...I feel for you, man...i only skied twice this year, and i didn't really enjoy it...well, i did, but not to the level i could have if i were generally content as a person...perhaps being laid off is a blessing in disguise? I really despised the company i worked for, and those feelings grew stronger every morning i had to wake up and go to work...blah...but life is a series of troughs and ridges...the pattern changes eventually... powderfreak
How would you gauge that compared to other years? It seems similar to past seasons. This isn't representative of town though...I could just as easily post shots with no snow in them. But for whatever reason the yard between my spot and the neighboring condos takes forever to melt. But last year was a very snowy and record cold March up here so it's pretty similar.

TalcottWx
As the sun shines and the birds chirp I just went through some of my favorites from this winter. Thank god a lot was updated before I lost my phone in March. (screen stopped working) Much of the great quality of these pictures is lost when transferring to a smaller resolution on photobucket. However, the board does not allow the larger photobucket extensions so you will not be able to enjoy these pictures in all of their glory.
TalcottWx
Amazes me with that brutal landscape it can be so pleasant out now. We are truly blessed with the full effects of every season here whether it be fall, winter, spring, or summer.
TalcottWx
Taken last evening at the front of my building. Tall pines and Oak's keep the majority of my entire building and its landscape out of the sun. Not to confuse anyone, those pictures are from Southie and this picture is from my apartment at school in Andover.
TalcottWx
Parents are in FL. We rarely use our back staircase. Found out that Dad didn't listen when I said hire someone to clean off the roof.... Unfortunately. It's a spiral staircase so this is all on one side of the back of the house. One of the few places we luckily did not renovate in our major renovations three years ago.
