Hoth
After much thought, I've settled on Saranac Lake and coastal downeast Maine as being the worst places to live in the northeast. Saranac's pretty damn nice, if you happen to own a great camp...

tamarack
Flakes in the Augusta air since about 10:30 this morning. Some attempts to whiten the grass and old snow during brief spells of moderate, defeated as soon as flakes slow to light. Would probably be an inch or two had it come 12 hr earlier or later. At least some nice feathers to watch, though the back of the final band is near.

powderfreak
Persistent flurry in progress this afternoon. Some might be say wintery appeal, but Its like November stuff...some graupel, big aggregates, small needles coming down in spurts. Did whiten the ground earlier but we'll need some heavier showers to really accumulate anything. In Dec/Jan probably could've been like a fluffy half inch to an inch of currier and ives instead of wetting the pavement now. Move on to true spring? #NoPoles
When did we used to set the clocks ahead? Was it late Napril? way back in the day it was the end of April...but the amount of the year we spend in DST has been steadily lengthening as there is more and more opposition to switching back and forth and it's quite possible that in the near future we will just stay in DST...as it is now, over 2/3 of the year is in DST, as the end date has now been pushed back into November...
