OceanStWx
Curious on the warm layer...MPV in VT is 31/30 with freezing rain and Mansfield and MWN have fully below freezing columns. Must be just far enough south? image.jpg Check dual-pol, cold air is dammed up against the mountains but the "coastal plain" is solidly above freezing aloft. OceanStWx
Max temp of +1.1 at 890 mb on the 00z sounding. We're above freezing from the surface to just about 850 mb.

Skivt2
Freezing fog on last chair at Killington. Looked out the window at Pico base and it looks like freezing rain.
powderfreak
Morrisville-Stowe Airport showing 2.5 mile vis -SN...out my window it looks like white rain. Sloppy small flakes. Just talked to the lead Mansfield groomer and he said everything possible has come out of the sky but it's mostly snow now straight to the base. Hopefully it holds. Ahhh, so it's snow in the mountains but freezing rain in the CAD zone of the coastal plain? Interesting set-up.
OceanStWx
Ahhh, so it's snow in the mountains but freezing rain in the CAD zone of the coastal plain? Interesting set-up. That's a pretty frequent look from our radar in these situations. The correlation coefficient indicated mixing usually just follows the contours of the higher elevation, but doesn't advance over the ridge line. Unless you have a true cutter, then it has no problem blowing through.
TalcottWx
Kinda funny to think BOS probably already beat the record. All those under reported totals.

wxsniss
I like the orientation of the ULL Interesting observation. Tilt looks about the same, but low seems more elongated N-S than the roundish orientation on the RGEM 0z-3z, and that might help with the cold drainage in eastern SNE later tomorrow. Or maybe just picking on irrelevant details.
HIPPYVALLEY
Looks like just over 1" of precip today. Wow, only .32" here. E MA jackpot year continues. 33/32. - drizzle

alex
Just drove back from Sunday River. All snow up there but fairly light; gets much much heavier a couple of miles south of Wildcat in Pinkham Notch, and changes over to a mix of snow and sleet here in Bartlett - Id say 80% sleet atm. Looks like about 2" otg

TheSnowman
Above freezing now. Plain boring low quality rain. Can you please fully explain the different qualities of rain? I'm honestly interested in this. Especially since All rain is crap to me (unless it is solidly Summer as I prefer rain over sun).

The 4 Seasons
Even if they do technically tie, it would still be the new record, no? That's what ive noticed all new records that go down as ties, take the latest date. I'm not sure about that but I noticed it's that way with temperatures..the latest date takes over as the new record even with a tie. Not sure if that will happen with a seasonal snowfall record. But yeah, 1.9 to tie 2.0 breaks it with 107.7"
