I am sure the folks north of I40 between Mebane and Hillsborough have to be wondering what the hell is going on they have another severe cell with hail over them that's got to be the 3rd or 4th on in the last hr and half, and like Iso pointed out that cell moving into Chapel Hill getting severe fast...rotation is broad but there and downburst are almost assured dcape and microburst indicators in the triangle are very high right now...

The leaves turned upside down on the maple tree and the crickets stopped chirping. Weather's a comin'!

 

Woot, we have small cells popping all over Pitt Co, gotta hope they get nasty fast.....put a couple beers in the freezer to get them porch sittin cold for the storm......I hope

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

  southeastern Orange County in central North Carolina...

  northeastern Chatham County in central North Carolina...

  west central Wake County in central North Carolina...

  southern Durham County in central North Carolina...

* until 915 PM EDT

* at 814 PM EDT...Doppler radar indicated a cluster of severe

  thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging

  winds in excess of 58 mph. These storms were located from near rdu

  international to near Chapel HIll...and moving southeast at 10 mph.

* Locations impacted include...

  Raleigh...Durham...Cary...Chapel HIll...Carrboro...rdu

  international...apex...Morrisville...Jordan Lake state rec area and

  Crosswinds boating center.

Hope you get on bud. I got the old shaftola inbound here in southern Wake. Looks like the main activity keeps dying off to the east and reforming farther west. Bummer. At least I'll get some anvil blow-off mercy drops and be able to hear some thunder in the distance and see some heat lightening. :)
