CapturedNature
April 28-29, 1987: One of the reasons I loved that event was the follow-up snow on 10/4/1987. A nice short window between snowfalls. It would be really hard pressed to narrow that gap.

CT Valley Snowman
We want. one thing that map shows very clearly is that the Connecticut River Valley at 155 feet elevation near my house is not a friendly place for late season snowfall

eduggs
April fools 97. I think that event sparked my obsession. Turned 8 years old 3 days after that. Lived in Cohasset at the time. We got clobbered!! I hated that storm. We received 1" of slush near river level in the mid-hudson valley while the highlands were well over a foot. I was pissed. The accumulation map doesn't quite capture the elevational gradient in parts of NY.

tamarack
Not all bowling balls, but lots of 12"+ events March/April: NNJ 3/18-19/56....24" powder 4/7-8/56....12" Birch bender 3/20-22/58....24" blue bomb 3/3-4/1960....18" Coldest big snowstorm I'd experienced. powderfreak
Pretty much the entire month of March 2001. Three events of like 18"+ for the mountains among other smaller stuff. I think there were like 5 warning events that month.

CT Rain
The April Fools storm is also my number 1 too. For a storm that only gave me about a foot that was an incredible storm. The heaviest, wettest, tree snapping snow I had seen until 10/30/2011 of course lol

We managed double digits on the Connecticut shoreline - though the gradient was pretty incredible around here too.

Yeah I was in Delmar, NY at only 250ft in the April Fools storm and got 10-12" of tree snapping slush. That's in the Hudson Valley too. I remember no school due to downed trees and power lines. tamarack
NNJ part...same. Great memories for growing boys! And that doesn't even include the 20-30" on Feb 3-4, 1961, when snow depths in NNJ (away from the lowlands) reached 40-50" with loads of drifting - NYC's strongest Feb winds on record. tavwtby
April fools day storm I was living in Naugatuck and got like 16", but we were doing an onsite job in Marlboro MA, and there was about 36-38" of mashed taters. Incredible storm. But April 83 takes the cake, was on spring recess from school during that one, may 77 was good too for where I live now, but not great in Waterbury area. And of course 93 can't be left out!
