sauss06
Central/eastern PA and possibly down into MD, per his Facebook page. No specific towns/locations mentioned, although Harrisburg looks to be in a prime area for a starting location for today. yeah after i posted that question ifigured i would go to his page and look for myself.....thanks though. MillvilleWx
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/2015/md0939.htmlI'll take it. I still like the 81 corridor the best. Can't chase today, but I'll be following along. Still have my doubts on anything tornadic, but I i always thought the potential for straight liners was well within reason. Eskimo Joe
TOR threat is real iffy, doubt it verifies. Smart money would be on a Blue Box wiht a quick spin up tornado or two. Real good CAPE and low level moisture just isn't there.

Santa Clause
Tornado and T Storm watches come from Norman, Ok. Nice sun out in Williamsport, see if it helps up to 81. Real good CAPE and low level moisture just isn't there.I'm with you here. I do like a line to setup around 81 and work east. Could get a few spin ups along the line, but just not a fantastic setup for tornadoes around these parts. I can see some wind damage and lightning though. We shall see. MillvilleWx
Cell out near Selinsgrove is a warned cell, and the NWS said some weak rotation is being indicated on radar...Any discrete cell initiation ahead of a main line will be prone to rotation. Low level shear of 40-45 kts. in the CPA region will allow for possible tornadic cells. Going to have a bunch of outflow boundaries running around soon. We'll see how that goes. Eskimo Joe
Mid level lapse rates and CAPE are pathetic. Really hard to get severe weather when the temp is only in the low 80s.
Santa Clause
Good call Eskimo, storms not really intensifying in fact some are falling apart after firing. Only big player looks like Juniata/Perry county storm.
MAG5035
I also like roughly the I-81 corridor (to I-83 corridor south of H-burg) for the best chance of widespread severe issues today. It's already been more cloudy than not back this way with the widespread thunderstorms already nearby. Most of the Sus Valley up into NE PA looks fairly clear yet so they'll be maximizing the mid-late afternoon daytime heating a bit better to match up with a rather decent setup dynamics wise (especially shear). Not sure if the recently issued tornado watch for the rest of central Penn will end up being justified, but I can definitely get on board with at least a standard C-PA severe weather day isolated tornado possibility. CAPEs really go up in the far southern Sus Valley and especially south of the PA border. Could be a better hail threat and spin-up down that way, but maybe not necessarily favorable for large hail (in terms of size) due to the aforementioned unimpressive mid level lapses. I see more of a heavy rain/scattered wind reports/isolated tornado type of a threat combo for the rest of C-PA.
