Itstrainingtime
It's awesome outside. I'm not sweating once I walk out the door. What a concept. 61/44 Agreed! Someone asked me today what happened to spring...this is spring. The several days has been much more like summer.
heavy_wx
Doesn't look very nice today...probably reaching only the low 50s for a high with rain here. This lovely weather is courtesy of a plume of Atlantic moisture being transported into the right entrance region of the jet streak over central NY. You can actually see the melting layer at ranges relatively close to the KCCX radar in the 0.5 deg scan (heights not too far above the surface), with reduced correlation coefficient and enhanced reflectivity/differential reflectivity. Yeah. Today is not such a beautiful day unlike yesterday, but the region could still use the rain. Right now the precip is scattered in nature, but it's also light which is perfect to saturate the ground and reduce runoff. The rest of he weekend looks nice fortunately, so just have to get through today.

At least it appears we are going to cook next week. I cannot wait...muahaha.

MillvilleWx
The only way I appreciate 90's and above is with severe weather. If it's dry, forget it haha. I just hate hot weather. I think I need to move to NNE
Eskimo Joe
Noticed how every May we get the classic 1 - 3 day stretch of cruddy weather then we switch into summer mode for good. Seems like yesterday and today are it.

MillvilleWx
Looking sharp in red bud.Haha. Thanks. Lot of hard work goes into getting this tag. Glad I can see it pay off. As for the weather, looks to be shaping up to be a nice weekend for the holiday. High pressure to build in through the early weekend clearing out the dreaded low deck we've been having today keeping our temperatures much below normal. At the end of the weekend, we get a return to southerly flow around the periphery of an ejecting high to the SE. That'll pump in more warm and humid air as we settle under a ridge. Storms within the late period are possible in the pulse variety until the next front swings through. Lack of low/mid level shear will dampen any chance to get severe variety until a frontal passage, but wouldn't be surprised if a few cells create some havoc. It does look like central PA is in for another period of above average temperatures next week.

NortheastPAWx
There are parts of Texas that have seen more rain in the past week than we have YTD. WTF.
canderson
My parents in east Texas have more rain this year than they average in a year. And more than they had in all of 2008 and 2009 combined.
Voyager
Vile today. Doesn't even look like it's going to produce significant rains, either. At least it appears we are going to cook next week. I cannot wait...muahaha. Me neither. The past couple days were not fun for a warmanista such as myself. In fact, yesterday while I was sitting in my truck (in Hazleton) taking a breal between load assignments, mixed in with the rain was some sleet pellets bouncing off the hood. And Millville, congrats on going red!!!

Don't anyone worry about that haha
pawatch
Congrats Millville on achieving your red tag status!! It's a beautiful morning!! bright blue sky...not a cloud in the sky. Only downfall is we had a slight frost last night. Currently 37 degrees. Everyone have a good holiday weekend!!
NortheastPAWx
61/26. The flip from this to next week is going to be unpleasant. Today's high forecast is currently one degree lower than our forecast low for Tuesday night.

NortheastPAWx
If you believe the EURO its going to torch the next two weeks. Any chances for decent rain? Looking like we could pull a 35-40-degree diurnal today.
Eskimo Joe
Any chances for decent rain? Looking like we could pull a 35-40-degree diurnal today. This week could be productive for the ridge & valley section and we do need the rain. A widespread 1" - 3" would put us right back to normal. Blizzard92
WPC sure is wet this week... looks overdone to me as precipitation is likely to be more convective in nature. We could sure use the rain here in the LSV before the heat comes barreling in next week.

canderson
Got back from London Saturday. Came home to a dead a/c. Turns out, a bug got in the compaciter and was blocking the current from reaching it to start. So glad it wasn't anything big ... like needing a new one! canderson
Guys keep my family in your thoughts. Brother's house has been flooded out in Houston, and my parents are on a cruise currently but I think the parking lot they left their car at is flooded so might not have a car when they get back to Galveston.
