I think he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night, lol. Great insight, Ray - assume it's cold air advection and it's denser than the air it's displacing and it's drier, too, so it has to be saturated via the snow falling from above. Snow also didn't start out as heavily as I would've thought based on the radar - after about an hour of mostly light snow we have about 1/4 to 3/8" (eyeballing this one). A look outside reveals moderate snow, with nice, big, chunky flakes mixing in and a coating already on the ground. Roads, cars, everything just coated now.
