Guest Pamela
7" here Biggest event for the season 36.5" seasonal total I feel sorry for "IsentropicLift". The guy pours his heart and soul into the pbp and then gets the shaft of the season…just a small area that did not crack 6" with this over NNJ. Not being sarcastic, really feel bad for the guy. Have to agree...getting one inch less snow than everyone else is up there with the great injustices that any man has ever endured...
jm1220
Overall a very impressive event, one a few days out I thought would do well given how much moisture it had to work with, tapped directly from the El Nino-enhanced Pacific. We didn't see the 12" amounts I thought could happen somewhere east of the Apps, but a great event for March.
NorthShoreWx
Has this recently changed? I was taught the board method in St Louis about 5 years ago by the NWS. If so, thanks for the new info Sent from my iPhone Yes, it changed before the 2013-2014 season. Today was one of those days We would have reported an extra inch or two if wiping a board. 6.3" total here. I was a little surprised as it looks like more. That is probably because of all the old snowpack.
Guest Pamela
If Upton is sort of pressed for time and not able to update the PNS...they should utilize their Twitter account and just post the totals at the local airports...shouldn't take terribly long. Shouldn't be long now...they're just changing the ribbon in the typewriter.
NorthShoreWx
I never root against Boston; though I know many do...they are on the coast like us and they have their share of heartbreak...for being that far to the north, a mean annual snowfall of 43" is nothing to envy. I mean, New Haven's long term numbers were like 37" in the 20th century. When I moved to Long Island, the town I rooted against was Albany...the quintessential location in the interior (albeit in a valley) that took the moisture off our Atlantic and turned it into white gold for their benefit; and at our expense. I like it when people are happy, unless they don't like snow.

Rjay
The spotters near my town need to be retrained. When the trained spotters are off by more than an inch of my total and the next town over has the same total as I mesaured, I know there's a problem. SnowGoose69
5he spotters near my town need to be retrained I'm never there really to measure anymore except occasionally, I think my reports up through 2007 were largely high anyway because I didn't realize I was getting blowoff from the roof
