CoastalWx
Well, I'm more concerned about amassing 17" additional on the season, TBH. Guess what? Packs aren't going to be sustained much longer, regardless. I know..I guess from a seasonal stand point it matters..but dendrites amid huge pockets of air go pretty quick. Baroclinic Zone
Yeah we're rotting near 0C at 850 most of the day...if we broke the clouds with a good breeze, a lot of places would probably spike to near 50F...but prbably not gonna happen. Current SPC analysis.
HullMA
You wouldnt know we had 100+ inch in 1.5 months here on the coast. Piles are melting fast!
40/70 Benchmark
All I mean is that I'd rather 17" of fluff, and catch the record, than 10" of cement that lasts 3 days longer, but denies me the record.

I'm really starting to notice up here in the sunny areas....probably more pronounced up here because we've hardly added anything in 3 weeks. SouthCoastMA
It's getting to the point where it will snow 4" one day, then the pack will look the same or even less a day later.

Well even with the added snow, the sun will melt it at temps even in the low 20s. I started to notice that too. Soon the sickos will begin to take the more wooded and rural rides home vs the open and srn facing routes.

Ginx snewx
Snowpack ship is sailing in March anyway. I reached my seasonal high last night at 30, getting compacted again to be refreshed tomorrow then cemented into place.

I did a core sample the other day and have a real nice core pit dug out next to the undisturbed level pack, really cool to see the geological type layers of the different storms. The bottom is solid .

40/70 Benchmark
I'm of the opinion that today will be minimally damaging to the snowpack, assuming it stay's cloudy. 41 at KBED with a 30* dp. DP is more important than the temp, as long as it's under about 50*. Probably lose like an inch...two tops.

SouthCoastMA
Interesting to see temps in the upper 30's along the south coast and cape, with a SW wind off the frigid ocean. meanwhile, areas slightly further inland torching. Taunton is near 45! This is going to come back and bite us in the ass come April and May.
