Juliancolton
It'd be nice if we saw the northern lights here, but I'm not holding my breath (or charging my camera), I always end up disappointed. Had the CME passed just six hours later than it did, we'd be looking at a spectacular show right now. Geomagnetic storming persisted for hours during the day today, but the Bz component of the IMF flipped from far south to near-neutral right as eastern North America entered night. In essence, the link between the solar wind and earth's magnetosphere was mostly broken, so auroral activity isn't nearly as strong as it could have been. Still, my camera has been picking up some diffuse greens and reds on the northern horizon, with some faint curtains and pillars showing up at times. A brief substorm would yield some spectacular photos at this point.
Mophstymeo
I do like you M!!! I was playing!!! I just wanted to see if you were tough enough to join my clique... Not sure if I should be honored. I generally have a thin skin, but the past few days have been a bit crazy so I'm even more wired than usual.
dmillz25
Earlier today i basically got into an argument with someone because they really thought New York is part of New England. Now what i would also argue is that New York isn't a part of the mid Atlantic either
NycStormChaser
Well as Thatcher noted when telling Parliament that she would go to war against Argentina to reclaim the Falkland Islands, "We will stand on principle...or we won't stand at all"... I'm pleased to see you have a similar outlook. What would people consider new England? And how about places like block island?

jm1220
El Nino is definitely making its presence felt down here. Lots of rain south of us over Mexico via cutoff lows, and the next week looks to have rain event after rain event over Texas, starting with tonight's. Today felt like a soup outside, dewpoints hit 65. We need it too, but too bad it's not being shared over CA where it's desperately needed.

CTNoreaster
Here's the extent of it up this way. Pretty festive considering the date, but nothing epic. I am able to only see a faint green glow on the horizon, and the occasional dim wave overhead. Stayed outside for 15 mins, stupid light pollution. IsentropicLift
Pretty crazy, when I left my house skies were completely clear and once I got to about Wanaque on 287 you could see how dark the clouds were. Visibility briefly went under 1 mile near the Franklin Lakes/Mahwah border. Now some clearing is visible to the North. Nice little surprise.
