north pgh
Looks like there was a cell up your way ahead of this main line. How did your place fare ? I'm not too bad. Was just North of me. I was driving 79 to 279 south as it was coming. I drove out of it and then back into it.
Rd9108
Yeah I drove from shaler south on 28 out of one cell and right into another one. I could see the pitch black sky with a lot of lightning strikes. I got home before the rain started but those clouds were pretty dark and even had a pinkish tinge to them. Digger
I was literally 2 1/4 miles from there when it happened yesterday. Had everybody's smartphones not started blowing up with Tornado warnings, none of us would've had a clue anything was going on. No thunder, no lightning, no rain, not even any wind to speak of. Now, we were on the covered back porch, which was on the wrong side of the house to see anything, but even after the warnings, the only thing anybody had to comment on was that the sky was a little darker over that direction... CoraopolisWx
My phones warning alert never went off yesterday, even though a small part of Allegheny county was included in the warning. It wasn't until 10 minutes after mailmans post, that the warning showed up on the nws site, after refreshing a bunch of times.
CoraopolisWx
Impressive low pressure at this latitude for late June. Most of the time our cool summer days are the result of strong HP behind a cold front. But this weekend was more remeniscent of an October storm system.
