Didn't they used to have Mods on these boards.

This stuff getting old.

19.9 here.

I think NWS Pit did a good job once again with these projected totals.

It looks like a general 2-4 in the north sections and 4-8 in the South.

I feel bad for poor Morgantown gets his storm and has to miss it. It always seems to work out that way.

Did they get close to a foot in some areas?

Shoveling is done. Feeling a little better and ready for Spring and some Thunderstorms.

Although..........................................I will take 1 or 2 more shots of a decent March Snowstorm.  :snowwindow:

It's going to be incredible.. Hopefully it's warm for the parade.

That parade will forever remind me of the Blizzard of 93. The morning that storm started to hit, they went on with the parade. I also remember eating at an Eat n Park that morning and watching a seagull out the window trying to fly against the wind. Just stayed in the same spot for the longest time hovering in the air.

I wish I was old enough to remember storm or the 1994 storm. 2010 was awesome and all but I wasn't a weather nut and I was shocked to wake up to 2 ft of snow. I do remember looking at the NWS alerts and just seeing the totals increase each update. That was probably the storm that got me interested in weather.

I have the WPXI Tape of the Storm of the Century. They have highlites of the Parade on it, watching the marching bands marching in a foot of snow was pretty awesome.

National Georgpahic had a nice video on it also, more towards the forecasting end.

Jeff v's call of nothing a day out really flunked. Also, he actually made a post yesterday to someone that asked if the roads would be bad last night that he would be ok in pittsburgh. The roads ended up being atrocious last night. Driving back from the gane was as scary a ride as I've had.

There should be more accountability for that type of thing. Not just go on like he didn't blow the call, I mean no accumulation? Sounds extreme but people's lives are legit at risk over things like that. Anyone of us could have said we would see at least 2-4 from a couple days out. Yet heres a pro met, on air met to boot, completely ignoring every model.

That's the difference between operational and broadcast meteorology. Broadcast anymore is too busy being TV stars. I would love to see how much time they actually put on a forecast.

He did have a map up yesterday that said 2-4, but one of his jobs is to alert the public, and he failed miserably IMO.

Road conditions can deteriorate quicky around here with minor accumulations.

Last night and this morning showed how providing a balanced forecast in needed.

I think we all agreed that sounding the panic alarm was unneccessary, but downplaying the snow as nothing was not smart either.

Definitely. Thats what puts hime more at fault to me though since he has a greater reach to the general public.

Something as simple as, theres a system coming that has potential to bring accumulating snow. To say no accumlation in this past situation just seems irresponsible to me. Just not sure what he has to gain by it.
