Drove out of my neighborhood this morning only to see daffodils and tulips coming up out of the ground. I think it's even earlier than last year. Could be wrong though.

I think we're running earlier for sure.. perhaps much earlier. Was cold around now last year... by now any stretch of warmth is going to get things moving. Trees in the alley (need to figure out what they are) are flowering now.. early cherries should be along in the next few days at this rate.  No doubt some cooler air ahead will slow things a bit though questionable how much.

Just checked some pics from last year and have tulips/daffodils in bloom in my neighborhood around April 9th. Tulips at the Netherlands Carillon in bloom around April 19th, but they started to bloom before then. Cherry trees around the tidal basin began to show color around April 5th and hit peak around April 10th.

ETA - Saw my first crocus last year on March 22nd, so those are def earlier this year.

Seems more that the early flowers and bushes shift around depending on temps. For most trees it seems you need more extreme shifts to keep them dormant or make them go early. Maybe dependent on type of tree. Ground flowers seems well ahead of last year, magnolias and forsythia too. Early cherry maybe not as much we'll see. I have a good record for April last year and forsythia/magnolias were blooming early mo.. Already on cusp now.

I was in Green Bay Tuesday and Wednesday. Mid 50s under brilliant sunshine. No snow. Just a few dainty piles in some lots. A little snow on shady sides in Milwaukee but nothing from there to Green Bay. very little ice on ponds and lakes and rivers very surprising

I guess I'm old and don't pay attention to local politics but I was surprised that MD is proposing a legal weed bill similar to CO's. I'm opening a food truck and parking next to various dispensaries if it happens.

What will ya have on the menu?

Rep Harris probably won't be happy since he tried his d-baggery on us over our vote. Seems the tide has rapidly turned on the issue.. though saw an article yesterday about people complaining about the smell in DC apartment buildings heh. No arrests in the city since the law went into effect. Honestly.. it might be tempting to get in on the ground floor, some people are going to end up really rich from this turn of events.

My wife is a star cook. I joked with her already about opening a pot edibles business. Edibles are booming massively in CO right now. That would be fun.

Just make sure you don't eat all the merchandise.

ha! Won't be a problem. If it was beer then there would be a problem. There's members here who weren't born yet since the last time I smoked. I suppose if it goes full legal I might sit down play my guitar and eat 8 lbs of chips and dip just cuz.
