Been alternating between moderate and heavy snow for most of the last 45 minutes.  As of 1:45 pm, we have 1" of new snow on the ground here in Metuchen, at 24F (with about 1/2" in the last 30 minutes; started here around noon).  Much better dendrites than expected and I'd guesstimate a 12-15:1 ratio by eyeball.  Mix line appears to still be just NE of Philly, so hopefully we'll get a couple of hours, at least of this close to 1" per hour snowfall and make 3".  I was expecting 2-4" before the changeover, so 3" would make me pretty happy.  Of course, I'll take more, but expecting the sleet then ZR in a few hours.  About to head out and drive around a bit.
