Damage In Tolland
2 feet of snow in March 13 firehose storm was gone in 5 or so days here. It can go quick. Obviously that is extreme, but if the pattern turns this could go quickIt warmed up not long after that and in your area there wasn't much before that OTG if I recall. Sure the sun will do its work but the next 10 days are cold overall. If mid month is muted and then pattern turns colder later on we could have pack well into early April. Plus we add more the next 3-4 days and another possible near the 10th with the PNA spike.

Maybe 4-5 inches of water in the pack still.

Yeah that's kind of what I meant. It's a very cold temp wise snowpack..It's compacted...there's ice in it..there's a lot of water content in it esp east of ORH.. plus we keep adding it to it this week. IMO it's going to take a long time to melt without high dews and cutters or screaming warm winds

One thing for peeps to look at the second wave is not by definition anafrontal , prolific overrunning
CoastalWx
There is so much meat to the pack in the south shore. That ain't going nowhere fast.

CoastalWx
What are your depths like before today? low 30's? I didn't measure, but I would say that's about right. It settled pretty good over the last week despite snowfalls too. There might be a bit more to my south actually. This is the time of year where it pays to live in the woods. HIPPYVALLEY
I bet that will hammer the southern areas, too. Jesus, that sucks....been terrible here for the last 2+ weeks. (Yes, I know what my seasonal total is) This week crawled by waiting for tonight's event. I think there is a good thump from this mid-week system but it might be a crawl for Boston to break the record. Pretty sure it happens next 10 days though. HIPPYVALLEY
I have developed a fondness for snow thump to freezing drizzle to a misty 35F so hopefully gravy for me Wednesday.
Max
NAM continues the colder trend, but still wants to warm 925mb temps from like -10C at 0z to +2C at 9z for places around MA/CT and MA/RI borders. That is a hellish turnaround in 9 hours.
