WintersGrasp
Looks like everything is coming together for quite a nasty little system. Still 2-3" for the city, maybe 4 nearby or out on Long Island.....4-8" north. But the potential for icing is definitely there.....let's hope it's more snow than ice
SnoSki14
It's an ugly icing situation if that comes true and it'll make for a very nasty commute Monday morning.

Metsfan
Sneaky little warm layer come in at 3z for the Island. 950 temp(1.1) 900 temp(0.5). Snow could mix with a touch of sleet(shallow warm layer).

Metsfan
1-3 type storm nyc to central jersey..I believe the main story will be the icing Yeah I agree. Here is a look at Trenton's skew-t. Warm layer is more pronounced. 900 temp(1.2) 950 temp(2) with surface below freezing.

ag3
A red tagger just agreed with him That's nice. And I disagree with him and the red tagger for NYC/LI and north. TTN was always a struggle with this system. 1"-3" TTN to south of EWR. 3"-6" EWR and north into NYC, NNJ, LI, Hudson Valley and CT.
bluewave
The NAM takes the 900-925 mb layer above freezing by 21z near the Driscoll Bridge and South Shore CIty through Nassau by 22z-23z.

SnoSki14
The ice is going to be far worse than if this were all snow. We would rather get all snow to avoid major problems on roadways but unfortunately ice will be a factor.

Immediate south shore of LI and NYC will likely see 2"-3", instead of 3"-6", that most of the rest of NYC and LI sees.
