Guest Pamela
When it shows that in Central PA, it usually verifies. Hopefully for you it doesn't. If it were the Canadien; I'd be concerned...the NAM...not so much. I'm to the east in Suffolk...so, knowing the NAM....it may have the right idea; but just displaced it 30 miles to the left. This is probably a mostly snow event from Staten Island north...maybe even the 40th parallel north..at least from 40.5 N.

ag3
Just follow the Rgem and Gem-Lam from here on out. Anything else is unnecessary.

Guest Pamela
06z gem-lam is pretty snowy, curious to see how it trends from here I did not even know until someone told me recently that the HRDPS was the GEM LAM...was does HRDPS stand for? weatherpruf
If this solution is correct it will generally be a 3-5/6 inch deal. Seems like a decent winter, lots of storms to track, but most of them 2-6 deals. And the snowpack has held. Will we still see some rain in this package? SnowGoose69
I did not even know until someone told me recently that the HRDPS was the GEM LAM...was does HRDPS stand for? The RGEM was renamed the RDPS last year so it may simply be HighRes

Guest Pamela
Thnxs for all the explanations...those Canadien models confuse me...it took me at least a year to figure out the difference between the GGEM & the RGEM...still not quite sure I know what it is...lol. ag3
I did not even know until someone told me recently that the HRDPS was the GEM LAM...was does HRDPS stand for? Yes. The HRDPS is the hi-res Rgem or the Gem-Lam. P.S. The NAM just caved to the Rgem.
Zelocita Weather
NAM is consistent in about 0.6"-0.7" LE area wide.

Treat it like this. The GGEM is a global like the GFS and the Rgem is a short range model like the NAM. Then the Gem-Lam is like using the HRRR.
