stormtrackertf
24 years ago, this happened. Shows what kind of variation you can get at this time of year. 1991.png At the time, the largest tornado outbreak in Michigan history, superseded in 1997 and then again in 2001. Today, a feathery dusting of snow that has since blown away from the slightest breeze. Sun angle? What sun angle? Give us a moist cold system and we could lay down a blanket of snow no issues whatsoever. Going down to the mid-teens tonight.

ukrocks
It's 40 degrees and cloudy right now. We'll drop down to 23 tonight. This is typical January climo for us not late March. Average high is up to 60 now.

hawkeye_wx
The avg high temp is up to 52, but we're stuck in the 30s today despite full sun. Hopefully, this will be the last sub40 day until Fall. Next week is still looking good with 4+ days of 50s and 60s.

michsnowfreak
Snow showers & squalls all day but no real accumulation. The occasional blowing across the road but never a full tenth either at home or Farmington hills. Temps in the 20s all day. Felt like mid-winter. Brewers
Both the GFS and NAM show the potential to mix down 40+kts tomorrow, although the GFS is more bullish on the higher gust potential.
weatherbo
fresh snow and clear skies last night took the temp all the way to -8 at my house. still -18 at Doe Lake, south of Munising a bit. michsnowfreak
Someone on Ye Olde Mount Oakland probably got 1-2". Some places in Macomb had some accum this morning from a huron squall. It was weird to have it snow ALL day yesterday and not accumulate. I dont think there was a single moment from about dawn to dusk where there werent flakes floating around, yet its just a T. By contrast a few stray flurries fell the night before, and thats also a T. All T's are not created equal. Also its funny that during winter when snow falls seemingly every day we are so accustomed to it, but in the early and late season I always get the obligatory "its snowing" texts from a handful of friends/family
michsnowfreak
I was going through the temp departures at DTW since Feb 2013 when the persistent above normal temp pattern in place from mid-2011 thru 2012 went byebye. Cannot ever recall such a period of domination of below normal temps, and this March will only add to the list. Feb 2013: -0.9 Mar 2013: -2.6 Apr 2013: -2.8 May 2013: +3.9 Jun 2013: +0.2 Jul 2013: +0.4 Aug 2013: -0.1 Sep 2013: -0.3 Oct 2013: +0.9 Nov 2013: -4.0 Dec 2013: -3.3 Jan 2014: -9.2 Feb 2014: -8.7 Mar 2014: -8.5 Apr 2014: -0.3 May 2014: +1.7 Jun 2014: +1.1 Jul 2014: -3.7 Aug 2014: -0.5 Sep 2014: -0.9 Oct 2014: -0.3 Nov 2014: -5.7 Dec 2014: +3.5 Jan 2015: -4.4 Feb 2015: -14.0 So in the 25 months from Feb 2013 to Feb 2015, Detroit is is averaging a temp departure of -2.34F. daddylonglegs
Still have some lingering snow on the ground ...should lose all that this afternoon. Sitting right around freezing with sunshine again. Sitting at +1.6F for the month... I hope this is it. Time for spring now. The cold can come back next fall. Euro weeklies don't look too bad, NAEFS looks ok... I thought we might have an early green up, but this past week put an end to that.
Geos
Down to 13° here this morning! Ridiculous for March 28. Wish the warm-up was starting this weekend. Looking like a nice week coming up, but the GFS is showing some more cold shots in the extended. - One note, looks like a backdoor cold front on Tuesday... Powerball
Obviously the amounts/precip types/placement will change, but there have been hints of another frontogenesis snow event in our vicinity Tuesday morning. GGEM in fact would be solid advisory/low-end warning criteria snows for parts of MN/WI/MI

ukrocks
We dropped down to 23 last night. Our average low for today is 43. But, it was nowhere even close to record territory as that was 8 set back in 1947. It's still only 33 degrees at 1 p.m. Starting to wonder if we will even hit 40 today. It will be a struggle. But, it looks like we may get into the 70's for multiple days next week. Looking forward to that.

I see it's in the mid 40s in Duluth. Pretty unusual to see them so much warmer than here.
