michsnowfreak
Tomorrow there will be measurable rain, so this will end a few streaks for Detroit.. This will be the 3rd longest stretch on record with no measurable precip in March. 25 days Mar 4 - 28, 1889 22 days Mar 10 - 31, 1999 21 days Mar 4 - 24, 2015 17 days Mar 15 - 31, 1918 16 days Mar 2 - 17, 1905 This is more of an "unofficial" stat, as it would take a ton of research to verify, but tomorrow will end a streak where Detroit went 65 consecutive days with no measurable rain. Since Jan 18th (when a meager 0.03" of rain mixed w/ snow fell), there has been no measurable rain. Since then there have been 21 days with measurable snow & 1 day with measurable freezing rain. Again, while no official stat tracking this exists (it would be like trying to separate lake effect and synoptic snow), this would appear to be the longest such streak on record. hawkeye_wx
Rainwise, this system kinda pooped out for my area. We got one band of light rain this afternoon, but that's it. Tonight the main low is passing too far southeast (a few days ago models had it passing nw of the area) so there won't be anything more than another quick band of light rain. Geos
Nothing here yet. Hovering right around freezing at this hour. Majority of my yard is still snow covered, but I suspect most of the yard will be snow free by morning.
Chitown Storm
SN with about an inch down. Might end with about 2" at this pace.
cyclone77
Decent rain falling out there the last half hour or so. 0.14" so far. Was hoping we'd get our first rumbles of thunder tonight, but the 'vection crapped the bed a few hours ago.

weatherbo
closing in on 3" this morning... has come down pretty fast too. should have a lull this afternoon before much colder air wraps in and snow ramps up. guess 12-15" in my neck of the woods by the time it's over. latest mqt graphic:
hawkeye_wx
0.46" of rain total. 0.20" here. Most of southeast Iowa got under a quarter inch. Some locations barely got any rain at all. This was originally going to be the first good spring system of the year, with talk of widespread solid rain and maybe some thunder, but instead it was 30s and scattered light rain. I think we'll have to wait a while longer to hear the first clap of thunder.

smoof
I had about 0.10" ice this morning, enough to make the trees shiny but not quite enough to bother with taking pics, it's all melting off now right as scheduled.

wisconsinwx
i sense some butthurt Yeah, I would gladly trade my winter climo this year for yours, you love snow, yet all I hear is complaining about snow staying on the ground. It's similar to if you heard me complaining with our back to back snowy years in 07-08 and 08-09.

wisconsinwx
C+ rant That's my rating for this winter, and that should be considered a generous grade when you see one storm over 4" and annoying cold, even once the page turns to Spring.

wisconsinwx
yep drought watch uncancel? I really wouldn't worry about, March is not that rainy/snowy of a month in general I don't believe, averaging under 3" of precip. If this continues into April being relatively dry, then I would start to worry.

McDude
Didn't get much rain last night. Can't get the clouds to erode. Struggling to get past 40 degrees. No 50s today. I'm in the same boat as Alek. It's getting harder and harder to enjoy winter even with a lot of snow. After 21" everything else is kind of meh. Then it sticks around for 40+ days just makes life miserable.
