Can't wait to watch the temp at SUX and surrounding areas skyrocket tomorrow.  That corridor from Sioux City back to around Broken Bow look to be in the max area of heating potential.

Watch someone out there hit something stupid high like 95.

Yeah I could definitely see some 91-93 degree readings there.

Still thinking mid 70s here tomorrow.  Putting a number on it, I'll say 76.  Starting to see signs of perhaps a slightly higher starting point than originally anticipated.  The forecast is a little tricky as mixing depth is in question, and tonight's observed soundings out west make one wonder.  Doing a mix down from just 925 mb would yield highs very close to what I'm calling for, so while there's bust potential either way, I feel like the greater risk may be something warmer.

Down to 51 here.  We'll likely dip well into the 40s, and even reach the upper 30s if we completely go calm.  However, the cool near surface layer is extremely shallow, and will very quickly mix out like it did today.  We saw temps jump over 20 degrees in less than 2hrs this morning.

Still sticking with my original forecast from earlier today...

Here...81

MLI...82

CID...82

DSM...85

ALO...87

SUX...91

I'll likely be missing the best of the max temp extravaganza tomorrow, as I'll probably be tied up at the Ford dealership for quite awhile.  Picking up a 4wd '15 Escape Titanium tomorrow.  Should be a much better/more efficient chase vehicle than the current 4X4 '11 F-150.

Clouds are definitely more of a hindrance today than I thought.  4km NAM did great with clouds yesterday.  For today, naso much.  Still a great day with a good shot at mid to upper 70s here.

Called an audible on trading the truck in.  Started to unload some of the stuff out of it and got kind of sad lol.

enjoy the warmth and congrats on the new ride!  Hope you get to chase in it but I'd worry about hail damage, no?

Ha thanks, but actually decided to keep the truck for now.  Doesn't get that great of gas mileage, but it has a lot of other good points to it.  I look at hail damage as a badge of honor lol.

Up to 68 here.

First 70 degree day in the bag.  Up to 71 here, and also at MLI.  SUX up to 83.

Dews are suprisingly still in the low 40s here, so we have yet to fully mix out.  Moisture layer is extremely shallow, so I'm still thinking we can get this to mix out a little later.  That should give us a nice boost by mid afternoon.  Clouds have thinned a bit as well.

EDIT:  Iowa City really bottomed out this morning, and started out at 35 degrees.  They've already risen almost 40 degrees to 73.
