mattie g
I'm in NC for this storm...HRRRRRRRR was showing 15 inches late last night, most people are waking up to 4-6. Mets are getting hammered down here and in SC/GA. That's got to be painful. Plenty of guidance had pretty big numbers down there.
mattie g
I'm going with 2.5" unless I see the local trained spotters going much different. I don't have my numbers available, but pretty sure that puts me at 19.25" for the season, which is a shade under (what I think is) the average around here (20-21"). Ian
I never have liked the hrrr and I doubt it ever gives me a chance to think otherwise Probably not since you're a snow weenie. It works wonders on a May afternoon in Kansas. Does seem to have a consistent wet bias in synoptic and trouble with redeveloping clippers.
MidlothianWX
Finished with 5.8" down this way. I really enjoyed this event; it was quite short but didn't ping me like last week's storm. Easy to shovel, which is always nice. Puts me over climo for the season.
wxdude64
So many posts of crossing or being right at climo with this one....rename it to 'climo storm'?
I-83 BLIZZARD
Salt worked pretty well at dissolving the new snow that fell on pretreated sidewalks. Some became a little slushy but most stayed wet near the harbor. The sidewalks away from immediate downtown are a luge chute with fresh snow on top of dirty Baltimore ice. The already plowed parking lots still picked up over a solid inch of new snow. Easily 1.25 around the Harbor area. At least the snowpack looks cleaner. Deck Pic
There is no way dca received <1" You've been around for a lot of storms. This happens all the time. It will get updated. If not before the PNS at 4:30, it will be reported then....They probably got like 1.7 or somewhere in that vicinity. Could be more but they were "warm" during much of the storm, and might not have accumulated right away. I was at 1.3 at 7am. Their 0.9 may have been right at 7 or maybe a bit before. They'll probably come in on the lower end of these totals..My guess is 1.7" or 1.8" ...ARLINGTON COUNTY... 1 NNE BAILEYS CROSSR 2.5 946 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER 1 SSE WESTOVER 2.3 1042 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER BALLSTON 2.1 837 AM 2/26 BROADCAST MEDIA ARLINGTON 2.0 1013 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER 1 S ROSSLYN 1.8 955 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER 2 E BARCROFT 1.7 905 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER ...CITY OF ALEXANDRIA... 1 W ALEXANDRIA 2.4 1030 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER 1 SE ALEXANDRIA 2.0 944 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER 1 ENE ALEXANDRIA 1.8 900 AM 2/26 TRAINED SPOTTER
