Mello
At least for me, those yellow radar returns are a heavy snow/sleet mix. Ground is quickly turning white.

audioguy3107
I don't think I've ever seen that many yellows, oranges, and reds show up that widespread on the SE radar during a winter storm. That radar is just sick. - Buck

phil882
Very easy to see rain/snow line using correlation coefficient from the KFFC radar. http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=FFC-N0C-1-
Winterhawk
If by chance it starts to accumulate there are still tons of people on the roads, might be entertaining again. Looks like a normal rush hour just a couple hours early.

audioguy3107
Very easy to see rain/snow line using correlation coefficient from the KFFC radar. That's a great shot.......so far it looks to be setting up right where the models showed...maybe a couple of miles south but all in all fairly accurate. Itunis
That's a great shot.......so far it looks to be setting up right where the models showed...maybe a couple of miles south but all in all fairly accurate. My buddy at Tech is reporting a sleet/snow mix. Looks like 285 will end up being the battleground for this one (although I'm surprised they started with snow down there). SnowGoose69
And back to sleet. Small area of lighter radar echoes is crossing through now as soon as the stuff to the Southwest comes and it probably goes back over

Definitely seems like the northern perimeter should be a good starting place for the line. Don't mean to weenie out, but after seeing the SE radar, God, if we can just keep that rain snow line south of Cherokee, N. Fulton, Forsyth and northern Gwinnett, we'll be in the zone with the heaviest rates and (mostly) all snow and sleet. - Buck
