yotaman
Nothing here yet in eastern NC. Temp sitting at 37 with a dew point of 32. Precip appears to be about another 1 to 2 hours out looking at the current radar.

Zorian
Just experienced a bright band. Moderate sleet, clumpy flakes. Nothing to write about. 35.8. Not cooling enough... and echos to the sw are becoming spotty. Not fun.
NEGa
Really watching that strong fetch in the upstate and NEGA. Hoping it makes a more NNW trend towards this area, well that bright blob is over me. it is not heavy snow, its sleet/snow mix, but much more sleet than snow. not the big flakes from earlier sigh. Jalba
Radar returns are absolutely falling apart across western NC........ Looks that way, although there's a ton of snow reports all around so something is at least making it down. Still nothing here and im just 15 miles north of Hickory. audioguy3107
One thing that's really hurting us in north Georgia right now is the precip. field totally breaking up.......rates are just not heavy enough to sustain the snowfall that we saw earlier when the convective banding was moving through. If temps can drop another degree or two it may be enough to overcome, but it looks like the heaviest stuff may be done with exceptions of pockets of heavier precip. Take a look at the radar.....not nearly as heavy as earlier with a lot more breaks in the precip field.
jshetley
Heavy rain with some sleet and snow. I'm afraid much of the area south of I-85 in SC may be out of this. The heavy rates are not getting it done here.
wake4est
Got a question.... can I surmise by the 'horseshoe' shape of the precip field that that is indicitive of the CAD and lower DPs? No, just the radar shooting up and catching precip aloft

infekshus
Got a question.... can I surmise by the 'horseshoe' shape of the precip field that that is indicitive of the CAD and lower DPs? no. it means that precip near the radar site is not making it to the ground and the beam is only picking up precip that is higher in the atmosphere as the beam gets higher/farther away from the radar site.
