Really watching that strong fetch in the upstate and NEGA. Hoping it makes a more NNW trend towards this area,

well that bright blob is over me.  it is not heavy snow, its sleet/snow mix, but much more sleet than snow. not the big flakes from earlier sigh.

One thing that's really hurting us in north Georgia right now is the precip. field totally breaking up.......rates are just not heavy enough to sustain the snowfall that we saw earlier when the convective banding was moving through.  If temps can drop another degree or two it may be enough to overcome, but it looks like the heaviest stuff may be done with exceptions of pockets of heavier precip.  Take a look at the radar.....not nearly as heavy as earlier with a lot more breaks in the precip field.

Got a question.... can I surmise by the 'horseshoe' shape of the precip field that that is indicitive of the CAD and lower DPs?

no. it means that precip near the radar site is not making it to the ground and the beam is only picking up precip that is higher in the atmosphere as the beam gets higher/farther away from the radar site.
