snowstormcanuck
According to Rousseau and other mets it's the combo of the salt in the air and the -FZDZ accretion on the transformers. More than 20 000 customers without power in the GTA. Yeah, just heard that from a spokesperson from Toronto Hydro. Interesting,
TimChgo9
We had freezing rain and sleet, but as the precip moved out, there was very little rain on the back end. The icing that I feared (I live in a townhouse, and the common parking area is a huge concrete pad, that could very easily become a skating rink) wasn't as bad, although there was plenty of ice on the parking area, it didn't cover the whole thing. I for one am looking forward to the upper 40's next week, providing that verifies. I don't know if it's age, or whatever, but I am definitely not rooting for a late season snow storm, and I am glad this past storm missed us with the snow, I didn't want it or need it.
