Going to be on the fringe here just SW of BOS, which means well either catch a band that forms on the outer edge as these things often have and grab 3-5" or just miss and be <1". Not a lot of wiggle room for something inbetween really.

Regardless, BOS should get their 0.1"(May have gotten it already considering we've got a dusting and sand flurries ongoing), so the event is a win for me.

Edit: radar definitely expanding west a tick in the last few frames. Cautiously optimistic...

Box... good snows to 128 southeast

1120 PM update...

Band of moderate to briefly heavy snow was quickly working onto
Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts late this evening. Based
on latest radar trends...expect snow to rapidly overspread the
rest of eastern Massachusetts including the Boston metropolitan area through 1 am.

The hrrr/rap are not handling this situation well as snow shield
is well west of even their current depiction. Still expect a
sharp cutoff in the main snow shield not too far northwest from
the 128 corridor...but the Boston to Providence corridor should receive
a few inches of snow.
No real changes to the current forecast and
winter weather advisories. Snow should pretty much be over by 5 or
6 am for most of the region.

That echoes my thoughts....cut off near me.

I like that I'm east of the western belt.

Do I get in??

Any takers?

I think we're good here. Looks solid.

An inch down in Newport was snowing harder when the leading edge came through, but still moderate at the moment... the heaviest stuff looks to be to our east a tad but we're still in the thick of it.  I'll take it!

This is the winter of pretty snow, nothing will beat what we saw last week, but its still so fluffy.

Many of the models have shown this heavy band getting into Bristol county but never getting much inland..before kind of falling off and rotating out. Weird, but on radar scope that band with the high reflectivities...it's just not making it north. Overall shield is, but it's lagging. WEIRD>

coastal front, seen it before in this setup
