You could say the Hi-Res is juicy.

That looks a lot different for the upstate than the low res.  Mby is once again in the minimum dot in Spartanburg.  Weird how the heaviest accumulations jump from N GA over the upstate and into Charlotte.  Is that caused by surface temps?

NWS Raleigh has issued Winter Wx Advisories for the area until 10 PM, calling for 1-2 inches in the Triangle today.  4-6 additional on Wed/Thu.

Greg Fishel on the evening news yesterday said we would not have accumulations with this event, so I bet this event catches a lot of people off guard.

Looks like the 06z RGEM is 4-8" for most of NC, though I'm just eyeballing it and doing metric conversions in my head.

I know this is banter, but man this is about as good of a setup for us that I've seen in many years -- cold temps in place(now), snow in-coming for a nice small event, then a major storm posed to hit 36 hours later.

Indeed. It's looking like the GFS might be about to join the party to some degree.

EDIT: The 06z GFS is 2-4", even here.
