The 4K NAM has a larger scale and higher resolution therefore deformation bands are picked up easily.

Deform band is a pretty large scale phenomenon. I don't think the Euro, which is also pretty hi-res, is going to have trouble picking up on axes of deformation.

NAM captures the potential better with its larger scale. Euro is very broad. Deform bands are pretty narrow.

fwiw, the rgem seems to be a compromise between the nam/gfs...although it is much colder at 850mb than either model.

Lookout, I am very curious in the precip panels on the rgem. Have they come out yet? That model has been really doing some work lately.

The kool kids in NC want the EURO/NAM to be right, and the rest of the gang wants the RGEM and GFS with euro blend for the southern folks.  LOL  I think the NAM was on crack tonight..I will say that.
