Baroclinic Zone
warmer than forecasted for some to our south is good for us... not to steal anyones snow thoOnly if precip can get continue to get that far north. Is a concern of mine too with this shredded weak looking system right now. 3-6" looks safe.
Quincy
We start the taint: @NWSNewYorkNY: 8:27pm: Sleet and freezing rain mixture occurring here at the office. This is also likely occurring across areas on LI south of the LIE.

eekuasepinniW
Unexpectedly slick roads. There were two cars stuck at the bottom of the hill out front when two firetrucks came down it responding to a call. Trucks slammed the brakes and ended up going sideways all the way down, narrowly missing the cars. Got my heart pumping a little.

metagraphica
Looking at the correlation coeficient radar looks like the changeover line is along the north fork of LI over to Fishers Island and Westerly. Headed my way soon. 31o

HIPPYVALLEY
Personally, I'm gad that things are verifying north of the HRRR. You and I both. Nice baking powder bomb fringing NW MA right now.

Baroclinic Zone
I'm pretty close to changeover here. 35/32 and vis has come up to 7sm. Still reporting -sn though. Probably an inch has fallen.
TalcottWx
Granted I am a bit of a hypocrite for saying totals don't matter. When Logan under reports totals it makes me irate.

Damage In Tolland
@NWSBoston: [840 pm] The change over to rain may not make it much further northwest than a Providence to Taunton line, with mainly snow elsewhere.

wxsniss
Personally, I'm gad that things are verifying north of the HRRR. Oh I'm aware lol... I'm becoming more amused than invested in this storm, as it's looking quite crappy and balmy outside by this month's lofty standards. Falling just short of 100" in Boston would be quite a feat. I don't know what HRRR is seeing, too cold and trending colder. The rain:snow algorithms must not account for whatever sneaky warm layer is nosing north. TalcottWx
Lucky SOB... You have a gf now, no Tisk, tisk..... yes... but she is an athletic trainer...she is probably moving god knows where when she graduates. My comm diploma is probably putting me in the same boat though. Got the merrimack football coaching internship for next fall. I can't play anymore due to the spine surgery so I figured I'd make my time worthwhile.

Exactly what 0z HRRR depicts... this rapid advance north really slows down and doesn't make it past Plymouth

I don't know what HRRR is seeing, too cold and trending colder. The rain:snow algorithms must not account for whatever sneaky warm layer is nosing north. It tries developing what looks like a weak wave based on the wind fields which slows the northward progression. srfc temps actually look ok to me. Many will rot at like 32-33. Winds gradually turn wsw instead of s.
40/70 Benchmark
Precip is def. more congealed and less banded to the south of the pike. That is obnoxious.
powderfreak
Up to 5.0" of new snow so far and coming down nicely. This is nice. Normally get upslope snow on a NW flow, but the Spine into the eastern VT hills seems to be producing from a SW flow.
