CoastalWx
Euro was too warm. A lot of those PWS stations are stations without shields. Take a lot at official ASOS stations. Way cooler. The combo of sun glaring off snow will cause warmer temps on many PWS stations.

Max
Nice little sea breeze off the very cold LI sound waters keeping coastal areas in CT closer to freezing during the day.
dendrite
Euro was awful. it had widespread 40's lol Yeah...it's getting to that time of the year where 2m temps of 40-42 verifies as 45-46 with fair skies. The 12z euro this morning has mostly 2m temps in the 30s for 18z (6hr forecast) and there's sites eclipsing 40F.

Max
I wonder, how much melting/compacting will happen to 10:1 ratio snow of 7 to 8 inches of snow in temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s away from paved surfaces today. I'm thinking 3 inches total. Does that sound about right to you guys? Would love to see what the snow depth measurements from codfish and leesun are for tonight after we drop below freezing again. I saw codfish with 25" otg but leesun I don't know what you had for depth after the snow ended. Keep us posted.

CT Rain
That's a cheap win because he wasn't thinking it would happen because of full sunshine. He was thinking a warmer rain. So he will win for the wrong reason. But a loss is still a loss Yeah - except we were expecting sunshine lol

CT Rain
How was the snow forecast? Pretty good. Had 3-6" statewide (except Old Saybrook/Norwich points SE) and that verified pretty well. Here's a look at some of the non-slantsticked observations.
Max
The BDL area saw anywhere from 6 to 8 inches and 2" of that will melt/compact at the end of the day, so the snow depth looks to settle to at or just above 24". Hopefully it is still like that when I get back from Florida. i want to measure my depth the minute I get home on Wednesday.
