famartin
Where is the warm layer? SPC Meso shows the freezing line at 925 and 850 to be south of DE. Its wrong. Probably not enough data input.
Harbourton
Long, dreary snow with about 3 inches. Visability never really went under 3/4 of a mile. Icy texture to the snow now preceding the changeover. zzzzzz
TheManWithNoFace
Thanks Ray. Have you ever seen it be that wrong? I guess I need to learn how they create those graphics. I was shocked to see reports of IP and ZR in central south NJ when I thought it was below freezing in the entire column down to DE.

famartin
Are there better sources or only ground observations? Well in cases like this where precip is falling, the CC product is very helpful. What Wiggum posted.

I've trusted that meso page as being a useful tool. It's a mess tonight.
Voyager
The change line is moving warp speed now, don't think I make it to 10pm without the change How much did you get? At least a lot of places got some kind of thump down there. Up here we barely got a tap. I can still see the footprints from the mailman, and he was here at around 3:00pm. GD0815
down south, it is going sleet/snow sometimes depending on intensity....not sure mix line approaching means no more snow necessarily, just that the end is getting closer of course

Since you turned me on to it last winter that's my main radar source. By the way, thanks a lot to you and other mets for chiming in. I've learned a lot from this event. 2 1/8" now and still snowing at a light/moderate rate I guess. Must invest in a floodlight.

Ralph Wiggum
Heaviest precip staying south of the m/d line and East of the DE River for the most part. Some heavier bands speckled it to the North. Im under one right now, glorious.
ezweather
Okay, measured about 6 inches of snow. Has been mixing with sleet. Just checking the sidewalks, not much melting at all. Once we get the rain going, things will really ice up. Thats something to really watch during this evening.
