aldie 22
maybe our 3rd 1-3? Has to be 8"+ and counting....how silly would it be if we end up with a 30" winter?
mattie g
3.25" I want it to rip as much as possible before the changeover, but half of me wants that to fail so this won't be my biggest storm of the season. I need 2" for that.
WxUSAF
Measured 5" when I went out to shovel about 45mins ago. Probably only another 0.2" or so since. Basically just snowTV right now as can be seen on radar, but looks like that should pick back up very soon. I'm at climo (22") for the season
nw baltimore wx
Moved from Heavy Seas Ale House to Cross St Market. I don't have a ruler but from the tool that I use, there's at least 5" on the ground here.

Jebman
Moderate snow++ Good deal of snow OTG, 4 inches old snow, plus at least 3 more Not just a yellow band this time, a reddish blob developing and inbound. It is NOT sleet. It's snow

wxmeddler
Snow/Sleet line is currently along VA Rt. 3, should start moving north quickly now. Perhaps 50mi/hr. Winds at 850mb are currently hauling @$$ at 70kts.
BTRWx
Using correlation coefficient, looks like snow in the far western regions of VA, snow/sleet mix towards MD and sleet in southern MD. I think areas north of I70 will be okay till 9-10pm tonight before a full changeover. I honestly don't know central VA counties very well, but due sw of D.C. through the reaches of lwx looks like all snow. Can someone confirm? It looks like sleet if you draw a line from DC towards 5 o'clock across the Potomac River -- perhaps 60 to 70 miles south of DC? As Matt said, it will transition from SE to NW. SpringfieldSkins
Been out shopping in the new SUV. Went from Springfield to Fairfax and back between 12:00pm and 3:00pm. Great rates most of the time. Roads were deteriorated between 12 and 3. Plows are keeping up fairly well (FFX Co Pkwy) but smaller cars were stranded. Counted about 4 or 5 car stuck going either way. All in all, fun weather to drive in.
