usedtobe
The RR/HRRR combo has been advertising a relative lull at 3 or 4pm, and then coming back bigtime. Hopefully we can hold out on that flip as long as possible. That's a bummer since I still don't even have steady light snow yet just occasional flurries. Ji
Lack of watches by nws really gave people a sense that this would not be a storm to worry about. Big fail. How dare they not out leesburg in a watch yesterday
megals12
Obs from NW DC. First flakes around 10:40am. Roads covered within 30-45minutes. Moderate snow now. I was just out (grocery store). A LOT of cars/people on the roads. Main roads covered and slippery. Saw a few cars sliding on Connecticut Ave. Hoping people head home quickly and stay off roads, otherwise it is going to be a mess out there. sonickteam
Just got back from a 90 minute run in the pouring snow. Got a lot of funny looks from drivers, but it really doesn't get any better. Would that be considered a jebrun or an osfanrun? thats hardcore! I thought about it but grabbed a beer instead! and its smarter to be running in the snow than driving in it, you should have been giving them weird looks! wxdude64
what's the best site to use to monitor the snow/sleet line? any indication of where that is right now? http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=LWX-N0C-0-12 nowhere to be seen Ground verification- Me and several others in SW have had a sleet mix or a change to sleet for a short period this am, that is not being picked up. I'm back to all snow after about an hour of snow/sleet mix.
