Wow
Not sure how well 2m temps verify on the RAP, but it has suddenly dropped most of NC Piedment into subzero territory by 7 AM. Most likely too aggressive as it brings me to 0 by midnight.

Tullioz
Hard to believe it is this cold at 9pm. Currently 7.4 with a dew point of -8.2. Going below zero should not be a problem tonight.
Iceagewhereartthou
Few observations: 17 right now in Easley - no way we get near zero, but if we keep good radiational conditions we may get to around 5. 11 this morning. Temps much cooler in the area tonight at this time vs last night. Looking at CRONOS and Wunderground. Noticed Mt. Mitchell was already nearly -13 a few minutes ago - they're headed in the 20s below! Sassafras Mtn is SC down to 3 already - they may reach -8? Ceasar's Head was 1 this morning - not sure current temp, but could well go less than -5. Jonathan
9 / -9 Unbelievable. Glad I can say I experienced it, though! It's really neat to think that I could be seeing colder temperatures than someone who fought in the Civil War.
Iceagewhereartthou
GSP at 16 at 9:00 but DP just -1. By comparison, CLT is 15/-8. I think the -1 will restrict GSPs fall tonight. Should still see single digits but not low single. Also, on CRONOS, seeing a pair of 39s already in Collier County S Florida - 55 in Key West! Iceagewhereartthou
Not sure if this is correct or not - per Wunderground, Hogback Mtn in N Greenville County (3205 elevation) had a high of 9 today with a low of -2. Already at 2 currently! http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=MD7643#history Hard to believe a place in SC had a high of just 9 degrees ! Snowless in Carrollton
Wow, BIG differences in short distances? Any idea what would account for such a sharp cutoff South or West of those below zero temps? yeah what the heck is up with that ? 20+ degrees warmer in parts of upstate sc than areas near Charlotte and north. Is there a big snowpack in NC or something ?
