Snowman.
Where is that the case? The advisories make no sense based on their snow map. 1-3 for Leesburg on the advisory yet 4-6 on the snow map.
Fozz
Are you near one of the new County Warning Area boundaries? Doesn't matter... still very inconsistent The map has all of northern Balt county in the 3-6" range, yet we're in an advisory for 1-2".
mappy
Are you near one of the new County Warning Area boundaries? not really -- ive always been in one of those special area boundaries, only thing changed was the boundary itself (cutting through cockeysville instead of right at cockeysville). I-83 BLIZZARD
Nope. I'm under an Advisory for 1-2" Advisory for me for 3-5, but to my north Harrisburg has a warning for 5-9. Very choppy advisory/warning patchwork locally.
Fozz
not really -- ive always been in one of those special area boundaries, only thing changed was the boundary itself (cutting through cockeysville instead of right at cockeysville). not really... on my side of 83 it cuts further south than before. mappy
not really... on my side of 83 it cuts further south than before. the point is, for me, nothing has changed prior to the new boundaries. nitpick all you want over the actual boundary line

aldie 22
The NWS will show the specific zone watch but a general app will show it as Loudoun county...it is confusing for sure. Trust me though, the official watch is for western Loudoun only for now...I bet we get a WWA I'm good

gymengineer
Again, I'm pretty sure they're going to re-issue the advisories to correct some sort of error that happened in typing up the text. You all noticed that DC and its southern and eastern suburbs have 1-3" as the range, right?
WinterWxLuvr
I can't see how plain rain would be a possibility at 10am tomorrow considering where temps will be tonight.. throw it out It isn't... no way
aldie 22
Are we sure the NWS doesn't control the amount of snow we are going to get? 1-3" isn't worth staying up for tomorrow afternoon

mattskiva
I'm good The new Loudoun zone is leading to bizarre forecasts. They are going with 1-3 for eastern Loudoun and 4-6 for western. It's not anywhere close to that big a cutoff in any storm I can remember recently. It would be more like 2-4 vs 3-5 would be a realistic taper within the county

BristowWx
They can always ratchet up to a warning. I mean if you guys were at the desk you might do the same thing. Going big initially hasn't paid off very often for us
