PB GFI
euro is going to be a big time cutter this run….energy diving in out west This is the one I don`t like . Monday will cool . CAD is better at 84 than the 0z @ 96 . Weak SLP , so go with the GFS ensembles . The one behind I am not a fan of .

IsentropicLift
Tons of energy in that trough and a strong SE ridge. All of that has to come Northeast eventually.

Allsnow
925's are already well northeast. ummm okay that would mean frz rain with surface still below

SnoSki14
Tons of energy in that trough and a strong SE ridge. All of that has to come Northeast eventually. The gfs tried to get a second storm going after the cutter.
Allsnow
euro not as warm so far compared to the gfs/ggem, temps stay in the 40's
Allsnow
best rains go way nw into canada, we get very little plain rain per the euro
IsentropicLift
ummm okay that would mean frz rain with surface still below 32 SW of the city was rain by then but I agree that the surface hangs on briefly NE.

IsentropicLift
If the system cuts far enough West it will be a warm front and then a cold front.
bluewave
I think that one may, emphasize may, be the 1st true cutter we have had in a long time This one is more believable since its forecast to coincide with the strongest PNA drop since at least November. IsentropicLift
I can't look on my phone, but is the euro really putting a full-latitude trough in the west? Yeah, it digs almost to the Gulf of California. But we have some sloppy phasing going on.

That was impressive and I still like Monday , but a cutter behind is more believable when seeing that.

SnoSki14
I say bring on the cutter. Why not it's no longer mid winter, it's been cold for too long and the snow has been on the ground long enough. If we get some bonus snow before it then that's fine we'll end on a good note but then it could do what it wants.
NYCGreg
I was really hoping NYC would get in on a big storm to ease the pain of missing the blizzard, but it appears that is not in the cards. What's it...280 days until tracking begins again? That is a long way away.

Just a remarkably cold pattern in place when NYC goes with no 45 degree high days from 1/6 to 3/3. This would be the first 45 degree or higher potential for NYC. It's to the point where I'm going up last minute Sunday now. They haven't had ice in months and they will with this storm. The black snow in manhattan??? Good bye!!!!
