IsentropicLift
Yeah, as Forky said, the Euro went 2010 on us. Central and SNJ slammed while NNJ, NYC, NY and LI get brushed.

IsentropicLift
What was the outcome in 2010?? I think it was something like 2" in Manhattan and 13" in Sandy Hook.
Brian5671
What was the outcome in 2010?? you had severe blocking that year, so it was never going to trend north. This year a north trend would be much more likely with little to no blocking. Look at tomorrow's event pushing north 25 miles on every run.... You mean the same one the GFS shows that is snow/ice to rain? Major differences then
Brian5671
I think it was something like 2" in Manhattan and 13" in Sandy Hook. I think Central park had at trace or something like that. I landed at LGA that afternoon after and it was bare ground.

Thunder7842
I know the talk is of the bigger storm next week, but someone said the GGEM gives several inches of snow sunday night into Monday morning. How much does the Euro show for this event?

IsentropicLift
If this turns into last March or Feb 2010...I'm out... March 2010 had one of the best rain noreasters you will ever see. The winds around here were only surpassed by Sandy.
Animal
Euro is trending south with this event. Who cares what the euro says these days. The model has clearly lost its luster
UnionWeatherWx
Man if that cutoff were to occur it would be pretty significant. Places west and north of D.C have already seen double digits snowstorms already. Around NNJ,NENJ. We have seen (0), yes ZERO this season. Biggest snow for me was: 8" on that January 15 Blizzard I believe.
SnoSki14
Be happy it's south right now. I'd rather it be south of us than north any day.

I am fairly certain nobody between DC and Philly have gotten remotely close to 8" in one event this year.
IsentropicLift
I saw the damage from that on LI, it was crazy. And to think, in Philly we got snow! I'll never forget being out with the fire department and being called to respond to a house where a tree had damaged the roof and water was literally pouring in from the ceiling. We were asked to tarp the roof and with the strong winds it was far too dangerous to put up the extension ladder.
