HoarfrostHubb
Rain is the worst case scenario in SE Ma. That will crush many roofs Why would 0.5" of rain be worse than 0.5" LE of frozen?
HoarfrostHubb
We have what looks like a weak mixed bag storm. Some snow, some rain, some freezing rain. Temps look to be ~32-40F for the duration. Same thoughts I had 24h ago. Sematics to call it a snow or rain storm but to me the majority of precip looks liquid, that's why I call it a rainer. I think in my neck of the woods, based on models verbatim, it would be primarily frozen. But a kitchen sink nonetheless
Damage In Tolland
I don't see anything verbatim that shows mostly liquid anywhere. It starts out as snow in the low-mid 20's everywhere. Adjust for models underestimating low level cold and you Prob don't bresk 32 NW of PVD. More than half of the qpf falls as snow so a Rainer? Not even close

Net gain, or at worse break even.
PWMan
I think most seem to have accepted that this will at best be a mixed bag. There seems to be a desire among some to be the first to call a torch/soaker.We all know it'll happen eventually, but this system seems to be trending toward more of a strung-out mess.
