Ginx snewx
So? Now some who love to hype snow are complaining about hype because of rain. You and I both know this wouldn't be discussed if another 4-8" snowstorm was modeled right now and people were freaking out about that. Has nothing to do with me or you its the hyposcrisy
powderfreak
I'm not sure what he is talking about, but it's pretty bad around here. Countless friends have issues..and not just a little water stain on the ceiling. Well if roof issues were a concern days ago like the roof collapse thread has, I'm not sure what another half inch of water weight would be downplayed. Sometimes that's all it takes to cross that threshold of severe damage.

40/70 Benchmark
Many people had 3-6 yesterday and perhaps many will tomorrow. I see tweets today that make it seem like its a 96 scenario again, just what I see thats all. I respect your opinion, but to be fair...3-6" of absolute fluff yesterday...that wasn't .5" of LE..I don't think. I could be mistaken. Anyway, even if it were...now we're adding more. The threat grows with each successive significant precip event.
CoastalWx
think they need warning? Its a disaster already , again the original point was anti hypers hyping, thats all. Because you had other mets yesterday tweeting about how snowpack means this will be all snow..blah blah blah. Piss poor meteorology. Now, you should at least tell them to get some snow off if they can. Don't scare people, but hey..preventive maintenance is always good.

I agree totally that the last thing people need are more precip but its 4 days away. some GFS numbers are in the tenths like in your area.
HIPPYVALLEY
This won't be a disaster but may be setting the stage for one.

CT Valley Snowman
Weak sauce low on the GFS. good, if it's going to cut it might as well be weak with less QPFand perhaps that would help hold a low level inversion or some cold air at the surface for longer
Ginx snewx
GFS has snow to ice to meh and no structural issues there going to be structural issues everytime weight gets added, temperatures rise. I told Scooter a couple of times the foundation has been laid the infrastructure issues will only get worse until this pattern completely breaks down. Ginx snewx
actually as the GFS depicts it that's a net gain for the pack for many.

codfishsnowman
well when its a rain storm, I never care if anyone gets more rain or sleet/zr for that matter lol and for the most part structural issues should be pretty minor back here....maybe a benefit of getting 3 1/2 feet the past month as opposed to 6 to 9 feet

The only hope they have is dry blocking ala 78 but obviously that is not on the table.
CoastalWx
lets hope its correct as that will be the best outcome for your besieged brethren. Well hopefully the 00z stuff agrees. If it remains weak, I could envision something where much of the interior rots at near 32 with a weak gradient while the low sort of sneaks across somewhere in SE MA. Otherwise a stronger s/w brings it farther west..but it's a weak system...I still have some doubts that it tracks across NY state and rips warm air northward like that. thomasnh
Local radio is calling for 47 deg and heavy rain and judging by the Euro I think they are right. Though hope after this next cold shot on Friday models readjust.
